What is the best way to get from Koh Yao Noi to Phi Phi?
For most travelers a direct speedboat from Manoh Pier is the best way across. It takes one hour to one and a half hours, and 12Go showed the Bundhaya boat from ฿1,150 and a Koh Yao Sun Smile boat from ฿1,233, both rated 4.6 out of 5. Book a ticket with hotel pickup if your resort is far from the pier, and take a morning boat, because the last direct sailings leave in the afternoon.
Koh Yao Noi to Phi Phi Speedboat Times and Operators
The 12Go listing for 1 to 7 November 2026 showed 9 trips between ฿1,150 and ฿16,875 and a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 55 reviews, with 73% giving five stars. The top of that range is for private options, such as a 17-seat private speedboat at ฿13,500. 12Go's text says ferries leave Koh Yao Noi for Phi Phi 12 times a day and lists 8 more as ferry-and-van tickets, which is more than the schedule shows, so treat daily counts as a guide.
Phuket Ferry lists Koh Yao Sun Smile and Bundhaya on the route, with Koh Yao Sun Smile at 09:10, 11:10 and 13:10 and Bundhaya at 10:00 and 14:00. Each trip lists two stops, which the page does not name. Direct Ferries shows only one Bundhaya sailing a day, at 09:30, in a timetable for early May 2026, so it looks incomplete. 12Go also sells Lanta Super Concord Tour and Green Planet seats.

12Go lists the same Koh Yao Sun Smile departure several times, at ฿1,000, ฿1,037 and ฿1,045, which looks like one boat sold through different channels, so compare before you book. Work back from your plans too. The 09:10 boat lands at 10:30 and leaves most of the day free, while the 15:15 sailing reaches Phi Phi at 16:15 and only suits an overnight stay.

Koh Yao Noi to Phi Phi: Direct Speedboat or Via the Mainland?
The direct boat is the simplest way, but it is not the only one. Travelfish lists speedboats from Manoh Pier to Phuket's Bang Rong Pier in 30 minutes to one hour from ฿500, and from Nopparat Thara near Ao Nang in 30 to 45 minutes from ฿650. On 12Go prices the Ao Nang route costs about the same as the direct boat, since ฿650 plus the ฿520 Ao Nang ferry comes to ฿1,170, and it adds a transfer and a second booking. It makes sense if the direct boat is sold out or the sea is rough and you want a ferry for the second leg. Otherwise stay with the direct speedboat.
Choose the direct speedboat if…
- You want one booking and the shortest journey, one hour to one and a half hours.
- You are travelling in the dry season from November to April, when the sea is calmer.
- You can make a morning departure.
Choose the mainland route if…
- The direct boats are full or cancelled, which Travelfish says can happen for days in bad weather.
- You prefer a larger ferry for the Phi Phi leg, as on the Ao Nang crossing.
- You want a night in Ao Nang or Phuket on the way.
Reviews on 12Go suggest the direct boats are good. Passengers on Koh Yao Sun Smile in March and April 2026 called it efficient, comfortable and a new, clean boat. A reviewer in October 2023 found the boat too full with no life jackets in sight and another in November 2022 complained of crowding, so look for life jackets before you sit down.
Manoh Pier for Koh Yao Noi to Phi Phi: Where Boats Leave
Boats for Koh Yao Noi to Phi Phi leave from Manoh Pier, the island's busiest, on the south coast opposite Chong Lard Pier on Ko Yao Yai, says Travelfish. Most Phuket and Krabi speedboats land there too. The same guide mentions Laem Sai Pier, about 6 km east by road, which some operators use with much less traffic. 12Go spells the pier Manoh, Manoah and Manoh Pier Arisa, so check the pier printed on your ticket.
Travelfish says Koh Yao Noi has no public transport. Pick-up trucks cost ฿100 to ฿200 per person, motorbikes ฿250 to ฿350 a day and bicycles about ฿200 a day, so your resort is the best source of a lift to the pier. Many 12Go tickets include a hotel transfer. The ferry-and-van options start at ฿1,370 and the 12Go page lists pickups from Koh Yao Yai as well as Koh Yao Noi.
Pickups can run early. A July 2025 reviewer on Koh Yao Sun Smile said the driver arrived 42 minutes before the stated time, after being told to be ready 30 minutes before, and they had to rush checkout. A November 2025 reviewer said pickup was on time. Confirm the time and a phone number the day before, and be ready early.

Ask your resort for a lift, or take a pick-up truck or motorbike. Leave time for the ride, because the schedule is thin and a missed boat can cost you a day.
Check in
Arrive at least 30 minutes before departure with your e-ticket and ID, as Phuket Ferry advises. Look for life jackets once aboard.
Cross to Tonsai Pier
Take travel-sickness tablets if you need them and sit mid-deck. Keep cash for any entry fee on arrival.
Koh Yao Noi to Phi Phi Prices: What the Trip Really Costs
Prices depend on where you look, so budget from the booking cards. On 12Go the Bundhaya speedboat started at ฿1,150, the Koh Yao Sun Smile boat at ฿1,233 and the Lanta Super Concord Tour boat at ฿1,354, while the schedule table listed ฿1,000 to ฿1,045 for Koh Yao Sun Smile and ฿1,169 for Lanta Super Concord. Phuket Ferry shows far lower sale prices, ฿600 for Koh Yao Sun Smile and ฿800 for Bundhaya against listed prices of ฿1,100 and ฿1,200, which we could not reconcile with 12Go.

How to keep the cost down
- Compare the sellers. The same departure appears at ฿1,000, ฿1,037 and ฿1,045 on 12Go.
- Skip the transfer if you can reach the pier. A pick-up truck costs ฿100 to ฿200 per person.
- Share a private boat only for big groups. A 17-seat private speedboat at ฿13,500 works out at ฿794 per person when full, but it only beats the scheduled boats with a group that size.
Koh Yao Noi to Phi Phi in the Rainy Season
Phuket Ferry says the Koh Yao Noi to Phi Phi route runs all year and describes November to April as the high season with ideal weather. Thailand Boat Tickets adds that December to February is the peak and that May to October brings more rain, humidity and fewer crowds. Book ahead in the dry season, because the route has so few boats.
Rough weather is the bigger risk. Phuket Ferry says ferries usually keep running in rain while speedboats are more often stopped by rough seas, and Travelfish warns that services can stop for days in bad weather. The Thaiger reported on 13 January 2025 that officials temporarily banned swimming and tourist boats at Phi Phi during the northeast monsoon, and Smartraveller warns that ferry and speedboat travel can be dangerous.

Koh Yao Noi to Phi Phi Day Trip: Possible but Tight
A Koh Yao Noi to Phi Phi day trip is possible but tight. The 09:10 Koh Yao Sun Smile boat reaches Tonsai at 10:30, and the 12Go return timetable lists the same operator leaving Phi Phi at 15:00 and arriving at 16:30, so you get about four and a half hours on the island. The last boat from Koh Yao Noi to Phi Phi that Travelfish lists leaves at 13:10, which means you must go in the morning.
The return fare is about ฿2,000 on two boats at ฿1,000, before any entry fee and transfers. That is a lot for four hours, so many travelers stay a night instead. Koh Yao Noi sits between Phuket and Krabi, which makes Phi Phi one stop in a longer trip. Travelfish lists speedboats from Manoh Pier to Koh Lanta's Saladan Pier from ฿1,050 to ฿1,299 in 1 hour 15 to 2 hours 10, and to Ko Jum from ฿1,025. On 12Go the reverse route showed 10 trips from ฿990 to ฿2,080 for 1 to 7 November 2026. The cards listed the Bundhaya speedboat from ฿1,150 in about 50 minutes, a Railay Eco Tour boat at ฿1,376 and a ferry-and-van ticket with a hotel drop-off on Koh Yao Noi from ฿2,010. The two pages give 50 km and 42 km for the distance, so do not rely on either.

Koh Yao Noi to Phi Phi Tips: Life Jackets, ID and Seasickness
- Life jackets. One 12Go reviewer saw none on a full boat, so check that they are on board before you sail.
- ID. Carry your passport or photo ID and your booking confirmation.
- Timing. Arrive at least 30 minutes early, as Phuket Ferry advises.
- Seasickness. Take tablets before boarding and sit mid-deck. Phuket Ferry says speedboats are more often stopped by rough seas than ferries.
- Who should not take a speedboat. Phuket Ferry says they are not recommended for people with disabilities, pregnant women, infants or children aged 3 or under, and travelers with back or heart problems should choose a larger boat.
- Luggage. None of the pages we checked states a luggage allowance for this route, so ask the operator if you carry more than a backpack and one suitcase.
- Cars and pets. Direct Ferries says cars and pets are not allowed on this route.
- Water. 12Go says tap water on Phi Phi is not safe to drink, so buy bottled water.
