Bottle Beach Koh Phangan is a small, calm bay on the north coast, backed by jungle and limestone, that you reach by longtail boat, a jungle hike or a rough 4WD track. There is no proper road, which is why it stays quieter than the main beaches.
This guide covers the three ways to get there, what the beach is like, where to sleep and eat, and what to bring. It draws on Thai Holiday Guide, its Thong Nai Pan page and one GetYourGuide boat listing we checked on 6 November 2026. Where guides disagree, we say so.

There are three routes. The boat is the easiest, and the return depends on the boatman's last departure in the late afternoon.
What Bottle Beach Koh Phangan Is Like
Thai Holiday Guide describes a calm, clear bay with soft sand, backed by jungle and limestone, with entry free. It is shallow and gentle near the shore, which makes it easier for families than the steeper beaches. Facilities are basic: a handful of rustic bungalows and simple beach restaurants, no big resorts and no nightlife.
Bottle Beach Koh Phangan is one of the quieter corners of the island, and our best beaches in Koh Phangan guide compares it with the rest. If you want a livelier beach, see our Haad Rin Beach guide.

Swimming and Snorkelling at Bottle Beach Koh Phangan
Swimming at Bottle Beach Koh Phangan is good in calm conditions. Thai Holiday Guide says the bay is shallow and gentle near the shore, and that there is snorkelling off the rocks at each end. It also lists Koh Ma, a snorkelling islet off Mae Haad, as a nearby option. Bring your own mask if you can, because we have not seen rental prices on the beach.
Check the sea before you go
Thai Holiday Guide says November is the wettest month, with rough seas that can cancel longtail trips. If the boats are not running, the hike and 4WD track are the fallback, and both are hard in heavy rain.
Where to Stay and Eat at Bottle Beach Koh Phangan
