Thong Nai Pan Beach on the east coast of Koh Phangan
Thong Nai Pan Beach, on the northeast coast of Koh Phangan.

Thong Nai Pan Beach is a pair of connected bays on the northeast coast of Koh Phangan, with Thong Nai Pan Noi to the south and the larger Thong Nai Pan Yai just north of it. It is the island's upmarket side, with calm water, shade from casuarina trees and the most restaurants outside the main towns.

This guide covers the two bays, how to get there from Thong Sala, where to stay and what to do nearby. It draws on Thai Holiday Guide, the ferry pages on this site and two GetYourGuide listings we checked on 6 November 2026. Where our sources give different journey times, we show the range.

What is Thong Nai Pan Beach like?

Thong Nai Pan Beach is made up of two bays. Thai Holiday Guide describes Thong Nai Pan Noi as the smaller southern bay with calm water, fine sand and the most restaurants and bars, and Thong Nai Pan Yai as the larger, more exposed bay to the north with mostly budget bungalows. Both have casuarina shade, and the upmarket resorts sit mainly around Noi.

Thai Holiday Guide does not give beach lengths or wave heights, so we have not either. Both bays have casuarina trees for shade, which makes them easier in the midday heat than the more open beaches on the west coast. For a comparison with other beaches, see our best beaches in Koh Phangan guide.
